Internet Commerce City® (ICCITY®) Features

  • The same physical item can have different stock numbers or stock keeping units (SKUs) due to different packaging units. For example, the same flower vase may be sold as a single item, in a box of six, in a box of nine, or even in a case of 48. Each of those packaging units usually provides a different price per vase, with greater quantity contents providing lower unit pricing. Buyers who allow a quantity range are more likely to find lower unit pricing than if they specify a fixed quantity. Registered users are able to specify a minimum required quantity as well as a maximum acceptable quantity for best price visibility.

  • Different items can have different pricing due to manufacturing costs, popularity, inventory levels or other factors that are not pertinent to the crucial characteristics and values required by the application the buyer is trying to satisfy. For example, a requirement for a resistor with half-inch leads could be satisfied with the same value resistors with half-inch or longer leads but not quarter-inch leads. Registered ICCITY® users can specify maximums, minimums, tolerances, exclusions, or precise values for crucial characteristics.

  • A buyer does not need to know the names the sellers give to the items they sell. So long as the characterics of the items match the buyer's requirements, the item will be displayed. Templates of characteristics for desired or similar items are available for selecting characteristics crucial to the user's needs.

  • Registered users see items listed in ascending item price sequence. Visitors see items listed in item name sequence but without price.

  • Visitors are limited to information on floral products. Registered users will have a broader range of product and services information.

  • Only information matching a buyer's requirements will be displayed. The buyer is not subjected to inapplicable information or cross-selling distractions.

  • Emails transmitting purchasing decisions by registered users are sent to sellers as well as buyers.
